Heidi McKee has been studying and playing the cello for 25 years. She received a Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Education from Furman University in 2004. Since that time, she has served as director of middle and high school orchestras in Walhalla, South Carolina. In 2013, Heidi McKee received a Master of Arts Degree in History from Clemson University, with an emphasis of study in the development and legacy of Appalachian string band music in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. She has performed with the Anderson Symphony Orchestra and the Greater Anderson Musical Arts Consortium Chamber Orchestra, as well as other local groups.
In addition to 14 years in the public school classroom, Heidi McKee has maintained a studio of private cello students since 1998. She has experience teaching students of all ages, beginning to advanced.
